Throughout his career, Mr. Rumrell has overseen more than $500 million in economic development initiatives—including $250 million in Jacksonville and another $250 million across St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler, and Volusia counties. Notably, he played a key role in revitalizing the Vilano Beach Town Center, securing $5 million in Recovery Zone bonds, spurring job creation, and generating a strong return on infrastructure investment.

He was also part of the team that helped bring Florida’s first proton therapy treatment center to Jacksonville, working in partnership with UF Shands to open this pioneering healthcare facility.

With more than two decades of experience as a licensed Realtor, Mr. Rumrell has established a distinguished track record representing buyers and sellers across both residential and commercial real estate markets.

His expertise extends well beyond the transaction itself—from zoning and land-use considerations to strategic negotiations, due diligence, and closing. Known for his market knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to his clients’ objectives, Mr. Rumrell provides a sophisticated, results-driven approach to every transaction.

Throughout his career, he has played an instrumental role in successfully closing real estate transactions valued at hundreds of millions of dollars, earning the trust of clients navigating some of their most significant investments.

Mr. Rumrell is the founder of the St. Augustine Songwriters Festival, a major cultural event that draws over 4,000 attendees across three days. The festival features more than 50 Grammy Award-winning or nominated songwriters, offering free performances in venues throughout St. Augustine and contributing to the city’s growing reputation as a cultural destination.

In addition, he served as Chair of St. Johns County Cultural Events, Inc. (SJCCE), the nonprofit that manages the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, from 2023 to 2026. In 2026, Billboard Magazine ranked the Amphitheatre the Best East Coast Amphitheatre. The Amp is consistently ranked No. 2 in the United States and No. 3 worldwide by Pollstar Magazine.

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, which completed a $14 million renovation in 2025, was recently nominated for a Mondo Award, an international honor. It was the only venue in the Americas to receive a nomination. Under his leadership, SJCCE produced major events including the Sing Out Loud Festival, one of the Southeast’s largest multi-day music festivals, and the Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series, a celebration of Black heritage through music.

Appointed to the St. Augustine Beach City Commission in 2019, Mr. Rumrell was elected twice unopposed and recently completed his second term as Mayor of St. Augustine Beach, one of Florida’s most popular coastal cities. Over his six years on the Commission, he was directly responsible for bringing more than $15 million in funding to the city. He also successfully secured $1 million in federal appropriations—the first time in the city’s history that St. Augustine Beach received direct federal funding.

As Mayor, he launched the weekly “Monday with the Mayor” video podcast, which garnered statewide and national attention and resulted in invitations to appear on national news outlets.

Mr. Rumrell is a regular panelist and moderator at economic development forums across Florida and has built a robust network of civic leaders statewide. He served on the boards of directors for the Florida League of Mayors and the Republican League of Mayors. He is also a member of the Florida League of Cities Policy Committee, where he helps shape policy on economic development and land use, and currently serves as Chairman of the Florida League of Cities Advocacy Committee. He also served on the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Rumrell worked in broadcasting, where he launched sports departments at Jacksonville radio stations and produced several popular sports radio shows.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in public relations from Flagler College. He lives in St. Augustine Beach with his wife, Angela, and their five children.
